Steps To Use the Infusomat Space

  1. Press the on/off button ⏻ and wait for the self-test to complete.
  2. Press ▼ and open the pump door with OK.
  3. Feed the primed Infusomat Spaceline into the slot. Insert the infusion line from right to left, keeping it straight — route it first through the upstream sensor, then through the two-hole clip.
  4. Attach the white clip without twisting the line.
  5. Insert the free-flow clamp into the opened aperture in the direction of the arrow, until the opening lever locks in and the safety clamp squeezes the line (the flashing signal lamp goes out).
  6. Close the door.
  7. Confirm the inserted spaceline with OK.
  8. Release the roller clamp as instructed by the pump.
  9. Set the volume to be infused (VTBI) using ▲▼ and confirm with OK.
  10. Select Rate (ml/hr) or Time, key in the value with ▲▼, and confirm with OK.
  11. Press ▶‖ Start/Stop to start the infusion.

To Change Rate While Pump is Running

  1. Press ▶‖ Start/Stop to enter the rate (you do not need to stop the infusion).
  2. Key in the new rate using the arrow keys ▲▼ and confirm with OK.

To Perform a Bolus with Volume Preselection

  1. Press the Bolus button (you do not need to stop the infusion).
  2. Press ▲▼ and set the bolus dose limit (e.g. 5 ml).
  3. Press the Bolus button to start the bolus. To cancel the bolus at any time, press Bolus again.

Infusion Line Change & New Therapy Start

  1. Press ▶‖ Start/Stop to stop the infusion and close the roller clamp.
  2. Press ▼ and open the pump door with OK.
  3. Press down the green opening lever until it locks in place. Remove the line and insert a new line.
  4. Close the pump door, confirm the inserted spaceline with OK, and release the roller clamp as instructed.
  5. In the main menu (infusion stopped), press ≣ Menu.
  6. Select a new therapy if needed, and set the new parameters with ▲▼.
  7. Press ▶‖ Start/Stop to start the infusion.

To End an Infusion & Switch Off the Pump

  1. Press ▶‖ Start/Stop to stop the infusion and close the roller clamp.
  2. Press ▼ and open the pump door with OK.
  3. Press down the green opening lever until it locks. Remove the line and close the pump door.
  4. Press and hold the on/off button ⏻ for 3 seconds to switch the pump off.

  1. Press OK.
  2. Disconnect the connector from the patient.
  3. Prime 2 ml at a time to expel the bubbles (repeat if necessary). The display shows "Prime line 2 ml?" then "Pump is priming".
  4. Connect back to the patient.
  5. Start the infusion.

Frequently asked questions
