Baseplate

Ostomy baseplates (also called skin barriers, wafers or flanges) are the adhesive part of a two-piece system that sticks to the skin and holds the pouch. A well-fitting baseplate protects peristomal skin and prevents leaks. EMIS+ supplies ostomy baseplates in Singapore.

Choosing a baseplate

Baseplates come flat or convex (convex suits a retracted or flush stoma), cut-to-fit or pre-cut, and in standard or extended-wear adhesives for longer or more secure wear. Match the baseplate to your pouch brand and stoma shape. See accessories like barrier rings for an even better seal.
